Canon iP8500 Printhead (QY6-0055-000)
Don't throw your Canon iP8500 Printer away just because the printhead has failed, breathe a new lease of life into it by changing the printhead.

Canon iP8500
The Canon iP8500 is the ultimate photo printer for professionals and advanced amateurs who demand brilliant, gallery-quality photos at all times. It employs Canon's innovative ChromaPLUS 8-colour ink system and "FINE" print head to achieve up to 4800 x 2400 dpi photos free of graininess and colour irregularities.

QY6-0055-000 Printhead
The iP8500 printer uses a QY6-0055-000 Canon Printhead. Printheads are classified as spare parts and as such do not need to be replaced as often as the ink tanks inside the printer. Over a period of time the resistors in the printhead fail and the image quality deteriotes.

When should you replace the printhead?
The printhead does not need to be replaced each time the ink cartridges are replaced, only when print quality deteriotes and a head cleaning fails to resolves the problem, we suggest checking with Canon if you are unsure.

Fitting the QY6-0055-000 Printhead.
No special knowledge is required to fit the printhead and full detailed graphical instructions are included. Note: The printhead does not come with any ink tanks.

Ink Cartridges
The Canon iP8500 uses the following ink cartridges: BCI-6BK, 6C, 6Y, 6M, 6PC, 6PM, 6RE, 6GR.

After Installing your Printhead
You may need to perform a head cleaning routine after installation and the print head will need to be re-aligned, refer to your user manual on how to do this.

Important Note:
Please ensure you choose your Printhead carefully! We cannot accept returned Printheads that have been opened unless faulty.

We strongly suggest checking with Canon technical support that a new printhead will solve your problem as opened printheads cannot be returned for credit unless faulty.
