The LIGHTSPHERE II ON-CAMERA FLASH DIFFUSER was designed by an internationally renown photographer & lecturer.

A diffuser is used to give more even light with greatly reduced/softened shadows than is possible with direct flash. The Lightsphere II is a valuable tool for any photographer who uses flash, regardless of what the subject might be.

This large diffuser is lightweight, flexible and soft. It fits easily into your camera bag. But that's not why it is so amazing.

The product is designed to create studio-quality lighting with on-camera flash. Whether you shoot Vertical or Horizontal, in low ceilings or high ceilings, the LIGHTSPHERE II will produce the same soft, flattering light quality WITHOUT A BRACKET or umbrellas or soft boxes.

As with so many things, the simple ideas are the best. This is a light modifier, which attaches to your flash gun to broaden and soften the light for both fill-in flash and main-source flash work. Such is the construction that it can also double as a lens protector or a macro light tent.

The inside of the Lightsphere is completely textured to make the light dispersion even more "soft" than it would be otherwise! And because of this design, the material is more translucent, keeping the unit from losing a lot of light while actually increasing the diffusion and softness of light.

See the difference with Lightsphere Flash Diffusers

There are a number of models, each of which is specific to a particular flashgun. The Lightsphere II unit has been designed to fit 39 different flash units. The construction is a semitransparent, moulded neoprene, 4 ½” in diameter and 4” high. It is quite flexible (think neoprene plastic tubing) and fits and holds (by friction) to the front aperture of the flash tube and is only a couple of ounces in weight.

There are 2 types of diffuser supplied by System Insight. Both are flexible; one totally CLEAR VINYL the other CLOUD (Frosted) VINYL with internal snap on dome...
Clear vinyl cuts down on light loss and also gives it a more sleek professional appearance while still delivering the soft diffuse light you demand. This version is designed for fast action, tight spaces and crowds. The new vinyl construction ensures a snug fit on a wide range of flash heads without the need for adaptors.

Key Features

  • Besides increasing the diffusion and softness of light, a Lightsphere II is especially ideal for vertical flash shots where the flash coverage is still similar to horizontal shots, due to the large rounded shape of the diffuser. (Minimizes the need for a flash-flip bracket).

  • The included inverted dome allows you to softly diffuse direct light with a large, soft source without creating flare on the front of your lens.

  • The CLEAR version is ideal for fast action, large groups and dimly lit scenes.

  • Easily slips over the front of compatible flash units.

  • Easily fits into a camera bag.
