Photo Printers Compared: Hi-Ti 631PS
Photo Printers Compared - HiTi 631PS
Hi-Ti use Dye Sublimation technology to print photos, this technology is superior to the Inkjet process (why is it superior?). The prints produced are true photo quality and have an invisible protective layer that make them waterproof, UV fade resistant and fingerproof - better than a real photo.
Unlike Inkjet printers which use an inkjet cartridge, a dye sublimation printer uses a ribbon, this ensures that you will always get the correct number of prints whatever you print and you dont have to worry about cartridges running out when printing.
What you should know about the 631PS
- The resolution of the 631PS is true 300x300 (4800x4800) (why is this?) The industry standard for a good quality print is 300x300 dpi.
- The paper tray is covered and is a fixed size ensuring that the prints always come out straight.
- Hi-Ti can claim that you always receive 50 prints per pack, which includes the paper. There are no other consumables to purchase and you are always assured of a true cost per print which is approx 30p. Images can be selected using the on-screen display which negates having to print an index print.
- We found the prints were waterproof and could not be finger marked. We even placed an image produced by this printer under a tap and the image was unaffected!
- Hi-Ti dye sub printers are constantly winning awards and 5/5 rating from a wide variety of magazines. One Hi-Ti model was awarded a DIMA award in 2004 for coming 1st out of a total of 160 devices for picture quality! - Just check out the customer comments here
We also offer a 7 day "try at home" policy on the Hi-Ti range of Dye Sublimation photo printers.
