Denis Firman Photographic has been established since 1983. They are studio based photographers in Middlesbrough, Teesside focusing mainly on social and PR photography.
They specialise in wedding photography in both formal and informal styles producing first class work, which is presented in the finest albums including the GraphiStudio wedding book.
The portrait studio is bright and spacious, ideal for the present trend in portrait photography.
Prior to 2000, when they moved over to digital, all photography was shot on 6x7 or 6x6 format. Process and printing was either at a pro lab or in house.
Being trained not only as a photographer, but also as a photographic printer, means that Denis knows quality and demands it. Since the move to digital, all his work is
colour managed in-house and sent to a pro lab for printing only.
The event side of the business is relatively new and after a few attempts at selling pictures online I released that impulse buying was the way to go. I needed to sell
prints on site.
After looking at several printers of different sizes and costs both on the internet and also on my resent visit to Focus I found myself speaking to the guys at System Insight. They confirmed my own thoughts about a few things, print size for one, how many people at an event want a print any larger than 8"x6", edge to edge printing was an other consideration, no time spent trimming prints.
I order the Hi Ti 730ps printer and several boxes of media as I had a charity ball to cover with in days. I am pleased to say that I did not need days to learn how to use this printer, its a peace of cake! . I went off to the ball and had a ball. The event was a great success and so was I, people flocked around me to view their images on my laptop and watched In amazement at the speed their prints appeared from the printer and the quality is fantastic.
