The Photographic Suite is based in Hazlemere, Bucks and we have been established now for almost 3 years. We specialise in Weddings and Portraiture, and are an active member of both the SWPP & BPPA.
At The Photographic Suite we endeavour to provide tailor-made solutions to satisfy your specific personal requirements when photographing your wedding day. After all, this is your day.
Whether it is a small private affair, or a large elaborate occasion, you can rest assured that your special day will be recorded with beautiful images that will last a lifetime. All your photographs will be recorded in an efficient, polite and unobtrusive manner.
We employ several photographic styles: from formal posed shots, to more informal reportage style photographs, which give a more natural feel to the images. These are complimented with a selection of candid photographs, often taken without the subjects even knowing it. The proportion of each style included in your final album is entirely up to you, and we will discuss this with you at your initial consultation and again nearer to the date of your wedding.
More recently we have branched into event photography – covering corporate & sporting events. This is what the Kodak 1400 was purchased for – being able to offer good quality prints on the spot, and capitalise on the impulse buy. The printer had paid for itself in 2 outings. I print 8” x 6” prints, and sell them in a good quality slip in mount for £12.50 each or two for £20. The beauty of the 8.5” x 14” paper is that I get two 8” x 6” per sheet. That’s a minimum of £20 per sheet for a cost somewhere in the region of £1.90.
When I was first looking at the dye sub printers, the cost of the paper and ribbons seemed astronomical. I have to be honest and say that my opinion has changed somewhat now… I no longer see the box of paper and ribbon as a cost of £80, but more of a box containing £1000, just waiting for me to liberate it!
I have received only positive comments about the finished article, and young children find it fascinating to see the page roll back and forth having the colours laid down.!
As a result of being able to offer this service, I have recently won a contract with a local toddler group to photograph the young ones with Father Christmas when he makes a brief appearance in December. I’ll drop the prices for this group as making money is not the prime aim of the game here – more making money for the group. So I’m able to offer the service, cover my costs, make a reasonable profit AND be able to make a financial contribution to the group. This product, and technology allows you to market yourself in creative ways, opening doors to new income streams and customers.
Setting up the unit was a doddle on the PC, a little more complex on the Mac, but was still achieved successfully with perseverance. I thought it was a bit tight for Kodak not to supply a USB2 cable and the correct plug & lead actually in the box though!
The photographic suite also specialise in photographing people in their own homes, as well as in a studio, we are well equipt to make the most of portrait sessions with adults, children, family groups and pets.
It has to be said that getting adults and children into a studio is a huge effort. When there, they are often not relaxed, and it is very difficult to obtain the best photographic result. Therefore we strongly recommend our home portrait service.
At home, both children and adults are comfortable in familiar surroundings, with toys and possessions that are personal to them. This often results in a more flattering image that is far more relaxed and personal to the people concerned.
