What does the Template Function do?
The 730Gala allows you to create and use templates that you can combine with pictures stored on your memory card or PC. A template is a separate picture that contains areas that the printer recognises as transparent, allowing you to place it over your regular prints. Before HiTi introduced this ability, you would have had to load your photos into an art package on your PC and individually edit each picture. With the HiTi 730Gala's template feature, you can create your own template, save it to a memory card, load it into the printer when you want to use this function and then every picture you print will have your pre-designed image over it.
Why would I use the Template Function?
You are not just limited to creating simple frames around your pictures. If you wish you can create company logos and / or text and store these as separate images, enabling the printer to add these to every image you print on the Gala. This is very useful for corporate functions or business promotions. The great thing about this is when you have created your template on your PC, it can be stored on a memory card and used in standalone mode. It gives the user a lot more freedom and flexibility compared to those that have to carry a laptop PC around with them to achieve the same thing.
How do I use the Template Function?
There are two ways you can use the template function, and each of these ways require you to use the GalaDesiree Software that comes on a CD with the printer.
The first way is to use the pre-defined templates that come with the GalaDesiree Software. There are quite a few templates that you can use: from normal photo & sticker frames to bookmarks and greeting cards. You can use the GalaDesiree Software to turn these templates into a .H3F file, which you copy to a memory card and then the printer can use this file to place your template over your photos automatically.
The second way is to design your own logo using an art package, and create it in such a way that your image is recognised by GalaDesiree and turned into a .H3F file ready to be copied to a memory card. This is a powerful function that could be very useful to event photographers.
How do I use a template stored on a Memory Card?
After you have converted your template to a .H3F file and copied it to your memory card, simply follow these instructions to enable the 730Gala to print this template on all your photos:
1) Select the "e-frame" icon from the controller's main menu.
2) Select e-frame "On".
3) Select the format of paper you are printing on, (i.e. Photo, Sticker, etc).
4) Select the card slot that conatins the memory card that you have the template(s) stored on. Please note that the slot you choose must also be the same slot that you will print your photos from. You can remove the memory card after these instructions have been completed and use a different card that your pictures are stored on, but it must use the same slot or the printer will remove the template from its internal memory.
5) Select the Template you wish to use.
6) You will be returned to the main menu and you should notice a blue "T1" icon in the top left-hand corner. This indicates the printer has a template stored in its internal memory and all pictures printed will contain this template.
Once this has been completed you may remove the memory card with the template stored on it and use a different card that contains your photos.
Please note that the template will be erased from the printer's internal memory after the printer has been switched off, or if you turn off e-frames from the main menu. The printer does not erase the templates stored on your memory card. |
