How to Install an ICC Profile for the Mitsubishi CP9550DW Dye Sub Photo Printers In depth instructions on how to use your ICC Colour Profile.
We at System Insight realise the importance and value of ensuring your Mitsubishi CP9550DW is set to print colours in an optimum fashion. Please follow the steps below to install our bundled profiles and to ensure the correct settings are enabled to give you the best results this printer can produce.
(You may want to check that your PC's monitor is calibrated correctly before you start so that you can better judge your results. You can do this quickly & easily yourself - Click here for details).
Step 1
We supply 2 profiles for the Mitsubishi CP9550DW:
The profile named ATM-Mitsub95500W-FM is for Fine mode printing, the printer's default setting; (printing quality is Standard, but print speed is high).
The profile named ATM-Mitsub9550DW-SFM is for Superfine mode; (printing quality is high, but print speed is low). You can only enable one profile to be used at a time, although you can swap between them by following these instructions again with a different profile.
Save both profiles to the following location:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color
Once you have saved these files here, you will need to link the profiles to the printer's driver so the printer
will make use of them. Open the "Printers and Faxes" window, (you should be able to find this in the Control
Panel if you're not sure); right click on the CP9550DW printer icon and select Properties.
Step 2
If you now click on
Color Management, you'll find the part of the driver that deals with Profiles. The profiles you saved should now be
listed in the box. Click Manual, then select the ATM-Mitsub95500W-FM.icm profile, (for Fine mode printing), or ATM-Mitsub9550DW-SFM, (for Superfine mode printing), then click Set As Default. If the profiles do not appear in
the box, then select Manual, click Add and select the profile. Then highlight the correct one and click Set As
Default.
Step 3
You need to ensure that Colour Matching is enabled in the driver or else you may find your prints appear too dark or warm. To enable Colour Matching simply open the "Printers and Faxes" window, right click on the CP9550DW printer icon
and select Printing Preferences. Click Options and make sure the Color Matching(C) check box is ticked and Table1 is selected.
These steps should ensure that the colours produced by the CP9550DW's printing, match as closely as possible, the colours on your screen; (assuming that you have also calibrated your monitor correctly).
